John’s career started as a fine art photographer in 1999 using the camera as a tool to capture the experience of life. Vibrant color, humor, an eye for light and the ability to frame the image are common threads throughout his photographs. His ability of transcending the mundane moments in life that we would normally pass by are paralleled with intimate moments with friends & lovers.

John’s talent has allowed him to cross over into the music and advertising fields. He has taken his ability of capturing a moment into making moments happen between his subjects and himself. Precisely what makes his pictures compelling.

While John’s subjects may be given some direction, what unfolds before the camera can’t always be predicted. He creates the conditions and allows his subjects natural behavior, facial expressions and body movement to surface allowing a collaborative to happen between photographer and subjects built on trust.
